Back to Shanoware

Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 7, 2026

The short version: Shanoware stores only what it needs to sign you in and keep your saves. It's never sold. There are no ads and no tracking. You can download or delete all of it at any time.

What's stored, and why

Your email address
To sign you in (no password; you get a sign-in link or code by email). It's also used to send you game updates, but only if you ticked the box to get them.
Your answer to "Are you 13 or older?"
Only "yes" is stored, to show you're old enough to have an account. Your birth date is never stored.
Your player name and avatar
So the games can greet you, on any device.
Your saves and progress
Saves, endings, notes and unlocks, so you can carry on where you left off, on any device.
Play stats
Playtime, runs, escapes, which games you've played, and when you signed up. These show your totals in Profile. Shano sees only overall numbers, such as how many players there are and which games get played.
Your email updates choice
Whether you said yes or no to game update emails. It's off unless you turn it on.

Some things stay only on your device and are never sent anywhere: your Settings (sound, controls, tab bar), and the error log.

Who handles it

What never happens

Under 13

Shanoware isn't for children under 13, and sign-up blocks anyone who says they're under 13. If I learn that an account belongs to someone under 13, I'll delete it and everything stored with it. Parents or guardians can contact me (below) to ask for this.

Your choices

How long it's kept

Your data is kept while you have an account. When you delete your account, it's deleted too.

Keeping it safe

Shanoware only works over a secure (HTTPS) connection. The database is set up so that only you can read or change your own saves and stats.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change, and big changes will be posted in What's new.
